This clip was originally an 8mm cine film taken around 1958 and is of limited quality. The clip is 96 secs long.
- The first scene was filmed from the buffer beam of a St Albans engine whilst descending the 1:39 gradient from Godwins Halt down to Hemel Hempstead (Midland) Station. Rules specified that a number of wagons had to have their brakes applied before the descent.
- The second scene is of St Albans engine 44043 arriving at Hemel Hempstead (Midland) Station with a train of coal bound for Hemel Gas Works.
